🏆 Division 1 Highlights

Egham & Hythe Whites 5 - 7 Three Tuns

It was a game of two halves in many respects. Without their Captain, Leader, Legend Luke Emmett, Egham & Hythe Whites faced league leaders Three Tuns. A strong start saw rising star Freddie Morrison overcome Martin Court, but a surge of wins from Three Tuns quickly established a 5-1 lead. The match also featured two reverse dishes, with George Smith and Daniel East earning bonus points for their sides. A spirited fightback in the second half brought Egham & Hythe Whites close, but they couldn’t quite cross the line as Three Tuns secured a 7-5 victory to remain unbeaten.

NRS 10 - 2 SS&NR Club

NRS are starting to hit their stride, while SS&NR Club’s form continues to dip, as NRS secured a comfortable home win. A dominant opening saw NRS race to a 6-0 lead with some strong performances. The fightback began when Wayne Timbrell and Greg Omahony claimed wins to make it 6-2, but Alan Wittekind halted the comeback to seal the victory before Calvin Christian, Paul Cutler and Jason Willerby powered home. A commanding 10-2 triumph leaving SS&NR bottom at Christmas and winless.

Shepperton Sports 5 - 7 Staines Cons D

Another team unable to find a win right now saw Shepperton Sports lose 4 from 4 at home to Staines Cons D.  A close match in many ways with both teams sharing the spoils in the first 6 frames, 3-3. Aiden Thompson, new signing for Staines got off to a good start in frame 7 against Gary Weltiner to give Staines Cons D the lead. Charles Smith then levelled it again but a run of frames from Dan Elsey and Tony Sparrow gave Staines a lead. David Miah got one back before a brillaint reverse dish sealed the win and a bonus point from Adam Gray giving Staines Cons a 7-5 win.

Sunbury Con Club B 4 - 8 WR Sports A

Another unbeaten side in Division 1, and last year’s champions WR Sports A, added another win to their tally as they look to close the gap on Three Tuns with an 8-4 victory at Sunbury Con Club. A strong start gave WR Sports a 4-2 lead, capped by a reverse dish from Ethan Coates in frame six. Rob Malik, Daniel James and Ben Reading then sealed the win, stretching the lead to 7-2 before Bobby Heard and Paddy McLaughlin clawed two back. A captain’s performance from Ben in the final frame made it 8-4 and secured three wins from three for him.

🏆 🏆 Division 2 Highlights

London Stone 6 - 6 Sunbury Con Club A

The only draw of the week was a true tale of two halves. Sunbury Con Club stormed ahead early, taking a 4-2 lead after winning the first four frames. Nick McDonald halted the slide with a win in frame five, sparking a comeback that levelled the match at 4-4. Ben Pryrce and Russell Cooper responded with victories in frames nine and ten to restore a 6-4 advantage for Sunbury, but it wasn’t enough as Callum Godfrey and Nick McDonald clinched the final two frames to secure the draw.

Staines Cons NEW 5 - 7 Egham & Hythe Youth

Unbeaten going into this match, Staines Cons NEW likely fancied their chances against the mix of young guns and seasoned players from Egham & Hythe Youth. It was tight early on, with the first six frames shared, and Dan Reilly and Mark Court securing the only wins for Egham in the first 6. The contest stayed close, with Perry Baker and Matty Clark levelling things at 5-5. But in the closing stages, the young guns stepped up brilliantly, sealing a 7-5 victory for Egham & Hythe Youth thanks to wins from Stan Sims and Max James. Biased opinion, perhaps, but as Stan Sims, Max James and Harvey Hamblin gain experience, and confidence they’ll be a force to reckon with. Watch out for these lads!

WR All Stars 7 - 5 Eddies

WR All Stars returned from last week’s bye with an impressive home win over Eddies, who are considered promotion contenders. Michael Punter, still unbeaten in the league this season, set the tone with a win against Gerry Hurley. WR All Stars held a 4-2 lead after six frames and extended it to 6-3 after nine, with Joe Delcourt guaranteeing at least a draw. Eddies fought back through Chris Atwell and Gerry Hurley to keep hopes alive, but Stacey Cox sealed the deal in frame 12, giving WR All Stars a 7-5 victory and maintaining their unbeaten run.

As we head into the Christmas break, play will resume in the new year on Tuesday, 6th January.

In Division 1, early leaders Three Tuns continue to set the pace, while Staines Cons NEW lead Division 2 (having yet to take their bye).

There’s plenty to look forward to in the new year: a refreshed league format and the introduction of BlackBall rules in the Cup. A lot will happen, a lot will change—but most importantly, enjoy the game!

On behalf of Dan Reilly and Mark Court, we wish all players and their families a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year.

Thank you for your continued support—here’s to making 2026 a year to remember!
