With the weather turning and warmer nights starting to arrive, it proved to be a big evening across the league, packed with heavy wins, shock defeats and a mouth‑watering title race developing in Division 2, where four teams are now firmly locked in contention.

In Division 1, Three Tuns continue to set the pace, with bonus points once again playing a crucial role at the top of the table. However, with plenty of matches still to be played, WR Sports A will be determined to stay in the hunt and won’t go down without a fight.

An exciting run-in lies ahead, with more twists, turns and key league movements still to come.

 🏆 Division 1 Highlights

Shepperton Sports 5 - 7 Egham & Hythe Whites

A match that might as well have been a family trip to the Chinese for the Morrisons, with dishes flying in left, right and centre. Both Paul and Freddie got on the scoresheet, with Paul going back for seconds and grabbing two dishes on the night.

It was a tight contest overall, locked at 3–3 after the opening six frames. The key talking points came early, with Paul Morrison producing a reverse dish against Lito Estrella in frame two, followed by son Freddie Morrison saying "anything you can do, I can do to" with a reverse dish of his own against Gary Weltiner.

The decisive moments came in the second half, where Egham & Hythe Whites took control, winning four of the final six frames to seal a 7–5 victory. Another dish arrived as Paul Morrison completed his double for the evening, reverse-dishing Dave Miah to add three vital points.

A narrow defeat for Shepperton Sports, who now find themselves edging closer to relegation.

Staines Cons D 6 - 6 NRS

A classic game of two halves, with Staines Cons D flying out of the blocks and racing into a 5–1 lead. The only response for NRS in the opening half came from Jason Willerby, who defeated Tony Sparrow in frame five.

The second half, however, told a very different story. What looked set to be a big win for Staines Cons D quickly unravelled as NRS fought back - sparked once again by Star Man Jason Willerby, who halted the slide with a win over Daniel Elsey to ignite a remarkable comeback.

True to the theme of the night, the only win for Staines Cons D in the second half came from Tony Sparrow, who bounced back from his earlier defeat to overcome Alan Wittekind in frame eleven.

A true tale of two halves, with honours finishing even as the match ended in a 6–6 draw.

WR Sports A 10 - 2 SS&NR Club

WR Sports A remain unbeaten as they continue to try and close the gap on Three Tuns at the top of Division 1, producing a convincing win against league strugglers SS&NR Club. WR Sports were on fire throughout, with a strong all-round team performance leaving SS&NR unable to extinguish the flames.

The opening six frames saw SS&NR manage just a single response, with Jaiden Lofthouse defeating Rob Malik. That defeat only seemed to spur Rob Malik on, however, as he responded in style with a superb break dish against Paul Fisher in frame six.

Jaiden Lofthouse was once again the standout for SS&NR in the second half, claiming an impressive win over current stats leader Ben Reading in frame seven. It briefly hinted at a possible fightback, but WR Sports quickly relit the fire, rattling off the next five frames to complete a dominant 10–2 victory.

The result leaves SS&NR rooted in the relegation zone and increasingly likely to face the drop alongside Shepperton Sports unless they can find that Cup form.

Three Tuns 9 - 3 Sunbury Con Club B

Current league leaders Three Tuns continued their strong run of form with another impressive victory, this time turning up the heat on Sunbury Con Club B.

A solid start saw Three Tuns take control early, moving into a 4–2 lead thanks to wins from Martin Court (2), George Smith and Leighton Cumber.

The second half was far more one-sided, with Three Tuns claiming five of the six frames. Sunbury’s only response came from Chris Armstrong, but the key talking point arrived in frame eleven when Leighton Cumber reverse-dished Liam O’Keefe, earning his side additional bonus points and marking Three Tuns’ 10th bonus point of the season.

The comprehensive 9–3 win keeps Three Tuns top of the table, sitting eight points clear of WR Sports, with a mouth-watering clash between the two still to come in May.

🏆 🏆 Division 2 Highlights

Egham & Hythe Youth 9 - 3 Egham & Hythe Ladies

A game of Beauty and the Beasts (I’ll let you decide which was which) saw Egham & Hythe Youth continue their fine run of form, defeating Egham & Hythe Ladies 9–3.

The Youth side flew out of the blocks, taking five of the first six frames. The Ladies’ only success in the opening half came through Captain Amber Pressman, who defeated Dexter Reilly, a player currently struggling to find form.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with another tough frame for Dexter Reilly as he was beaten by Marsha Rogers.

Trailing 9–2, the final frame saw Max James take on Lucy Allen. On paper, Max looked the favourite given his recent performances, but it wasn’t to be. Allen produced some excellent potting after a contencious foul call by Mark Court on Max to take the frame and earn three valuable points for the Ladies.

A strong win for Egham & Hythe Youth, and with other results going their way this week, they now find themselves firmly in the mix for promotion and a potential title push.

Eddies 8 - 4 Staines Cons New

One of two shock results on the night, this result has blown the Division 2 title race wide open as Eddies recorded a superb 8–4 victory over Staines Cons New.

The opening six frames saw Eddies edge into a 4–2 lead, with Staines Cons New’s only responses coming from Grant Baker and Matty Clark.

Staines started the second half strongly, clawing their way back into the contest and levelling the match at 4–4 thanks to wins from Perry Baker and Grant Baker. However, momentum quickly swung back in Eddies’ favour, sparked by Jon Martin who enjoyed a perfect night, winning 3 from 3 and getting his side firing again.

From there, Eddies poured fuel on the fire, rattling off the final four frames to secure an impressive 8–4 win.

Despite the defeat, Staines Cons New remain in second place, but the gap has been significantly closed. With Sunbury Cons A and Egham & Hythe Youth breathing down their necks, just four points now separate first to fourth in an increasingly tight title race.

London Stone 8 - 4 WR All Stars

The second shock result of the night saw league leaders WR All Stars suffer back-to-back defeats, this time going down 8–4 to London Stone.

WR All Stars made a flying start, racing into a 3–0 lead with wins from Ryan Fastnedge, Mark Goff and Joe Delcourt.

However, momentum quickly swung as London Stone skipper Nick McDonald inspired a stunning turnaround. From 3–3 after six frames, the match rapidly tilted in London Stone’s favour, moving through 4–3, 5–3, 6–3 and 7–3 in quick succession.

Mark Goff briefly halted the run, picking up a consolation point for WR All Stars with a win over Callum Godfrey, but Andy Henson sealed the statement victory by defeating Stuart Harmes to complete the 8–4 scoreline.

A huge win for London Stone and a surprise defeat for WR All Stars, who will need to rediscover the form shown earlier in the season if they are to push on for promotion and the title.

Sunbury Con Club A 8 - 4 Jolly Butcher

Another on form team who with results closed the gap and push for promotion and joining Staines Cons New on points.

Jolly Butcher did get off to a brilliant start, when Jason Anidjah defeated Captain Russell Cooper but all this did was light the flame that was due with Sunbury Con Club winning the next 5 frames to lead 5-1.

The second half of the match was a big more even and a closely fought affair with the 6 frames shared 3-3 but the earlier 5-1 lead saw Sunbury Cons A win the match 8-4.

Sunbury Cons Club A are the dark horses in the title race and with several matches still to play, could be the team to shock Division 2 and take the title on this form.
