The league kicked off this week with plenty of excitement, featuring big wins and five dishes. Ben Reading, Mike Punter & Leo Cooper celebrated their first of the season, while a special mention goes to Rob Mutter for achieving back-to-back dishes in his match against Staines Cons D.

🏆 Division 1 Highlights
NRS vs Egham 5 - 7 Egham & Hythe Whites
On paper, it looked like a closely fought contest, and that’s exactly how it played out, with Egham & Hythe Whites edging past 7–5. Paul Morrison made his first appearance of the season, suggesting Captain Luke Emmett may have been wary of NRS this week. Egham & Hythe started strongly, taking the opening three frames before Jason Willerby stepped up. Jason was the star performer, winning all three of his frames, while young Freddie Morrison endured a night to forget, losing both of his. Ultimately, the opening six frames proved decisive, with Egham & Hythe Whites claiming four from six and doing just enough in the latter stages to secure the win.
SS&NR Club 6 - 6 Sunbury Con Club B
Two teams struggling for form went head-to-head, and this match proved there’s little to separate them, ending in a 6–6 draw. SS&NR, still chasing their first win, started strongly by taking five of the first seven frames to lead 5–2. However, a spirited comeback from Sunbury, led by Paddy McLaughlin and Chris Armstrong, brought the score level. At 5–5 with two frames remaining, the match could have gone either way, but ultimately it finished honours even at six apiece with SS&NR still searching for a win and get them out of the relegation zone.
Staines Cons D 5 - 7 Three Tuns
This match had all the ingredients for a thriller, with unbeaten Three Tuns taking on a steady Staines Cons D. Three Tuns flew out of the blocks, leading 4–2 after six frames. Then came Rob Mutter, the star of the night, delivering the first of his two break dishes. The score quickly shifted from 4–2 to 6–2, and another heavy win for Three Tuns looked inevitable. But Staines refused to roll over, clawing back the next two frames to make it 6–4 and pushing hard for a draw. However, the comeback proved too much to ask when an in-form Rob Mutter stepped up again, sealing the win with his second break dish. That not only secured the team victory but also earned bonus break dish points, keeping Three Tuns unbeaten after five matches.
WR Sports A 9 - 3 Shepperton Sports
On paper, this match looked predictable, with unbeaten WR Sports A facing winless Shepperton Sports. WR Sports started as expected, racing to a commanding 7–1 lead and securing the victory early. Ben Reading added to the excitement with his first dish of the season - a break dish in frame eight that sealed the win. Shepperton fought back to claim two of the final four frames, but it wasn’t enough as WR Sports A cruised to a 9–3 triumph, closing the gap on Three Tuns at the top of the table and leaving Shepperton Sports dropping to the bottom of the table.

🏆 🏆 Division 2 Highlights
Egham & Hythe Youth 7 - 5 London Stone
A nail-biting contest that could have gone either way, with little separating the sides after six frames. Egham & Hythe Youth opted to start their experienced players in the opening two frames, giving them an early boost. The younger players, however, certainly made their mark - especially Stan Sims, who showcased his talent by winning both of his frames and securing the victory for his team. It was a close battle throughout, but the Youth did just enough to claim their second win in as many weeks, steadily climbing the table. A reminder to the young lads: play to win, not in fear of losing and wins will come.
Sunbury Con Club A 9 - 3 Eddies
It was a night to forget for Eddies as Sunbury Con Club A delivered a convincing performance. A brilliant start, led by captain Russell Cooper fresh from boxing, saw Sunbury race into a 5–1 lead. However, Russell’s second-half appearance, clearly feeling the effects of his earlier bout, ended in defeat to Gerry Hurley. Sunbury then produced another surge, winning the next four frames before Russell returned again - this time losing to Eddies’ captain, Chris Atwell. Despite those late setbacks, it was an excellent result for Sunbury Con Club A, sealing a dominant 9–3 victory.
Jolly Butcher 3 - 9 WR All Stars
Division 2 title favourites and unbeaten WR All Stars underlined their credentials with a commanding 9–3 victory over struggling Jolly Butcher. Despite the scoreline, the match showcased talent on both sides, with Leo Cooper giving Jolly Butcher a dream start thanks to a reverse dish in the opening frame. Leo was the standout performer for his team, winning all three frames and adding a dish to his tally. However, WR All Stars soon took control, rattling off frame after frame to surge into an 8–2 lead with two to play. Michael Punter added his own reverse dish during the run, pushing WR All Stars even further ahead at the top of the table and the team winning 9-3.
